Wow, too quiet.
Work and home have been busy...parents celebrated my Birthday this last weekend, since I'll be out of town this coming weekend.
Yes, after a few years of mentioning it, I'm finally going to the House on the Rock. We're also making a stop at the Dells (Kalahari).
Total of 5 of us..should be a great time. We leave early Wednesday, and get back..Saturday, sometime, I think. :-)
That's made my week and this last weekend move a bit faster...I was asked to dub some focus group tapes at work, and I made the recommendation "Hey, why don't we put them on DVD?" In theory, it'd cut down on dubbing time...this was when I thought I had 2 tapes, and needed to make 4 copies of each. Well, no..it ended up it was 4 tapes, and 2 copies of each (I made a third for the project manager). All on DVD...import time, edit time, all that. Did make a nice little menu page...
Now, this didn't and doesn't have to be a big production..just something to show our client that we are flexible...and, well, I'd rather have 3 DVDs (In a nifty Genesys case) sitting on shelf than 3 VHS tapes...
It was a neat idea...I documented my time, as they asked me to. 4 hours working on Saturday, 5 on Sunday, and a half hour this morning before "work". :-) I'm a little tired. Of course, I need to work from home..they gave me the 4th tape (which is actually 2 tapes...1 full, the other, about 5 more minutes), and get it done. All this, by EOD tomorrow.
So, at some point tomorrow, I'll be working from home...as this is one of the VP's clients, then that means I've already essentially got the ok, as according to the Project Manager, it HAS to be done before I go on vacation.
And, well, I love my job, but I've had this vacation planned a while, and others are already planning on leaving Wednesday morning. I'm going..so, just to make sure i can get it all done.
And now, I'm starting to ramble, so I'm going to go find some caffeine. :-P
