Day 2 (and a minor grumble)

per_soloOk, so, Saturday..slept in a little, because of general tiredness from the trip before.
Woke up and eventually went to walk around the harbor...saw a WONDERFUL 3 masted sailboat..much bigger than I've seen (yeah, I know...city slicker). The water was SO blue...like water is supposed to look. :-)
Entered Queen's Quay, a shopping mall of sorts...found a game story, looked inside a jewelry store...ate...at a cross between a donut shop and coffee shop..that had a pretty decent sandwich, and then dessert was ice cream...a variant of my favorite ice cream, as a child...Turtle Ice cream. And boy, was it creamy.
Then, a quick trip back to the hotel, and then to Union Station, to get on the subway to take us to Old Mill.
The Subway was GREAT. I'm kinda amazed that Indy hasn't come up with one of these yet...affordable, and from what i understand of Subways in great cities like NY, it wasn't scary...hell, it evoked the "people watcher" in me...to the degree that I thought about just riding the subway for a few hours, and watching the people getting on and off.
Anyways, we got off at the right destination, and got to the place the wedding would be held...only to find 11 other weddings there. Hmmm..well, after much walking and "No, that bride isn't in white...that one is perky and blonde...that one is Asian", we finally found the right one, thinking we were early...only to find out that we hadn't made it in time. So, we walked to the next room, which was the reception.
MANY courses...including a very odd tasting soup, a salad that consisted of four large shrimp, and quite an amusing scene. The Bride is a very boisterous person..the Groom is not. The bride and her friends proceeded to get a little tipsy (or more than a little), while the Groom just hung out with family and friends in the back.
Many pictures were taken, and I had a fun time people watching on that.
Afterwards, back on the subway, back to the hotel...watched a little of the Candian "Space" channel...and then more sleep for what would be a busy Sunday.
The grumble? U of I called me back, I'd applied for a tech position there...and they are only taking people with Degrees. Feh.
