Ok...No Angst/ Time for song Lyrics!
Nov. 12th, 2005 09:34 amNo Angst this post...well, except for the songs themselves...I had two different CDs I listened to in the car recently...and, two of my favorite songs..
If you can guess them BOTH, you earn a cookie...but, I'm not sure that's possible, without the assistance of the internet...then again, with the eclectic tastes out there, I may be surprised...I'm not sure the two groups would go together anywhere but in my head.
I fully expect people to get one, or the other. That's just how I think my friends would get these..they might know one, but not the other, or the other, and not the one. If you know both, be the first to buzz in...However, if someone guesses one of the songs before you, BZZZT, no cookie...even if you knew both.
And, for a bonus point, the first song was referenced about 18 years ago in a comic book..if you know the comic book as well...well, hell, I'm impressed...especially given that only one of my friends that I know of read that comic series (Due to my loaning it many years ago)...
Anyway, enough babbling...time for the Song Lyrics. :-)

Under the waterline
No place to retire
To another time
The eyes of the world now turn
And if we think about it
And if we talk about it
And if the skies go dark with rain
Can you tell me will our freedom remain
Put down that weapon or we'll all be gone
You can't hide nowhere with the torchlight on
And it happens to be an emergency
Some things aren't meant to be
Some things don't come for free
Above the waterline
Point the finger yeah point the bone
It's the harbour towns
That the grey metal ships call home
And if we think about it
And if we talk about it
And if the seas go boiling black
Can you tell me what you'll do about that
Put down that weapon or we'll all be gone
I must know something to know it's so wrong
And it happens to be an emergency
Some things aren't meant to be
Some things don't come for free
They keep talking about it
They keep talking...
Put down that weapon or we'll all be gone
You must be crazy if you think you're strong

And now, Song two (which is probably easier).
***********************************************************************
For millions of years mankind lived just like the animals
Then something happenend which unleashed the power of our imagination
We learned to talk
There's a silence surrounding me
I can't seem to think straight
I'll sit in the corner
No one can bother me
I think I should speak now ___________ Why won't you talk to me
I can't seem to speak now ____________ You never talk to me
My words won't come out right ________ What are you thinking
I feel like I'm drowning _____________ What are you feeling
I'm feeling weak now _________________ Why won't you talk to me
But I can't show my weakness _________ You never talk to me
I sometimes wonder ___________________ What are you thinking
Where do we go from here _____________ What are you feeling
It doesn't have to be like this
All we need to do is make sure we keep talking
Why won't you talk to me _____________ I feel like I'm drowning
You never talk to me _________________ You know I can't breathe now
What are you thinking ________________ We're going nowhere
What are you feeling _________________ We're going nowhere
Why won't you talk to me
You never talk to me
What are you thinking
Where do we go from here
It doesn't have to be like this
All we need to do is make sure we keep talking

There ya go..enjoy my little "mini-contest". :-)
And no, I am under no angst...the lyrics represent nothing other than that those are two of my favorite songs from the respective artists, and they both happened to be in the car lately.
