Anthem is apparently creating a position for me...don't know that I've heard of that happening before, but we'll see where that road leads. It would, of course, be a 6 month to hire thing.

2 computers are about as close to ready as I can get em...minor tweaking, but I kinda dislike having to disconnect myself from the net for those lengths of time...will start back on them after bit. Remember a program I need to put on them (Winzip), and then it's going through, and checking and double checking.

Then, back to the 98 box...screwed up the install on it, so must reformat and go at it again..had forgotten some of the ways that 98 interacts with older gateway boxes...amusing. :-) Still, end result should be what I need it to be.

Then, I've got 4 less computers taking up space. Of course, the one I've gotten to use for parts has been kinda happy. Wonder what else I can scavenge out of it.

ANd, on another fun note, finally found out who Negative42 is...which, both did and didn't surprise me. I'd kinda had a clue, but there were one or two pieces that didn't make sense. All is understood now. Kinda glad to know.

Creating a position for you must mean they liked you-that's a good thing. Congrats.

I basically don't see a negative in them creating a position for you. It means they see value to your skills, even though they didn't fit a job description exactly.

Of course, the big question is the money and the exact responsibilities. I eagerly await details.

Well, as it turns out, the position is the same one I interviewed for, they basically created another "slot" to add a member to the team.

Money is VERY slightly better than my time of having left ABG..responsibilities...answer phone helpdesk requests for Anthem. I don't believe I'll know more, until I start the position. Of course, I have two interviews next week, so things could change. But, right now, it sounds like I'll be working for Anthem.

Negative42 was someone who'd commented in my journal before, and I was curious who it was, but was thrown off by the IP address. Found out who it was, and with their desire for a little secrecy, am keeping that one tight for now. :-) Until I'm told I can do otherwise.

i'll call over sunday. different box is fine really. as long as everything hooks up i'm happy. if i get more freelance jobs that computer isn't long for life anyway. if you could, not sure you can but if you can, i would like a disc of my music so as to transfer on to a new computer when i finally get one. no pressure though...

Um, I think I can do that..the problem is that you had 2 GIG worth of music. :-)

I kinda thought on putting them into folders, so it's easier for you to find who you're looking for.

I would request that, if you get a new machine, I get the chance to get this one back...can always recycle it for another needy person. :-)

Yup...well, adding a position, but still a good thing. Now to see what the interviews next week bring.

not a problem, it was either coming back to you or going to a rebuild company.

really what i do with them on the 'puter is enque them up in winamp. let's me do random play and keep em up for when i get up in the morning.


would you want the monitor back too? cuz if so i could just give you the whole thing when i get a new one. my speakers are still good and if you clean the keyboard it's decent.

:-) Well, for sanity's sake, what I'll do is end up giving you 2 DVDs, one with music you already had on the machine, and one with music that is gifted to you, and from there, you can load what you wish onto the machine.

And yes, I was accurate in saying 2 DVDs. :-)
