As some of you know (Those who know me in person), I used to have hair. Still do, but it's leaving me, quickly. I had a relative at last Christmas who made comment on it, in a not so nice or PC way (Then again, most of those relatives are inbred hicks...oh well).

Well, yesterday, I had gaming...decent gaming session, but because it was at a friends house, we had it outside, because my allergies kicked to high as soon as I entered the door...outdoors, with the sun. I had a BAD sunburn early in the year, but didn't feel like it was that bad outside...then I got home yesterday afternoon...and, took a bath, washed my hair, and lit myself on fire.

Yup, one of the bad signs you're going bald is when you get a sunburn on the top of your head, where your hair is thinning.

Now, strangely, I do fall into the typical male piece of being discouraged by losing my hair...yeah, I have all the optimism that "Hey, at least I won't have to worry about grey hair", and have had friends tell me "Hey, Bald is a good look for some people". Yeah, no shit...am I one of those? I don't know. But, I'm just self-conscious enough that it worries me. Amongst everything in my life I can control that always feels out of control, yet another thing that I really DO have no control over...this is all genetics...something I had no control over in the first place. Another piece that I hear it's passed from the mother's side, that since my grandfather was losing his hair, that's where it came from, but if it's passed genetically from maternal, then how the hell does his losing his hair have much to do with it? It's just a pain in the ass...and enough to make my head swim when thinking about it.

On another note, I'm a freak...big shock. I'm sitting here, watching the series premiere episode of Smallville on the WB, and goosebumps filled my arms at seeing the asteroids falling over Smallville...yeah, it's a tv show...so, I'm a freak. :-)

Because you got your grandfathers genes from your mother. Now, me, I gotmy dads genes for my grey hair.
You may be thinning on top, but heck, you are still sexy and still have enough hair for me and my hair fetish :)
and I got sunburned yesterday on just my right elbow.

Hubby is balding too. He says he might get away with drastically receeded temples like his father, but as we know, hair-loss genes come through the mother. We'll see.

I really understand that feeling of not being able to control it.

I've gotton a sunburn on my head before. Was during the 2nd canoe trip. Taught me not to pull my hair back into a ponytail and be under the sun for several hours. :)

Per, there is nothing wrong with either thining or balding. It's a natural progression in life for many men (and some women)... My father was mostly bald. I'm sure Bear will be at some point in his life. My lil' brother, Joe is only 25 and he's already lost a majority of his hair. Hair doesn't make a man at all. It's what inside that does... Your compassion... Your humor... Your knowledge... Now don't ever lose those! :)

You're also blond and relatively fair-skinned. :) My sister, also a fair-skinned blonde, has a history of getting sunburnt on her scalp even though she hasn't had short hair since she was four.
