The interview FELT good...

NOw, the waiting game..though, out of a lot of resumes, they are apparently only interviewing 4 people...and I feel good being one in 4. Now, if I come in second place again, well, I may scream and rail, but I still have the other job setup to go. So, at worst, something ventured...because, it'd be worse if I'd sat and done nothing.

Now...to get the 401K stuff straightened out..with the former company having been bought out, I"m no longer comfortable with the fact that they control the account...at least, that's what the company who has the account said, so the quicker I can get the money rolled over to my bank, the better...

More interesting learning ahead.

Probably want to roll the 401(k) into an IRA. According to what
I know when I had to roll some previous benefits, if you touch
the money (i'e. the check is made out to just you) you will have
to pay taxes on it. Whereas if you have the check made out to
you AND the bank where your IRA is at for the IRA, you don't have
to pay taxes yet... :)

Check with your bank of choice... get the info... but make
certain that you go in person to talk to them. They seem to be
nicer to you when you are actually standing in their office.

Though that might just have been them subconciously thinking
(please don't let that baby run loose! :)

Need to borrow the baby? :)

D's right. You end up paying taxes on the money if you get it (on each of our closed accounts they did not take takes out but made us pay at end of year). IRA's have a per year limit if I remember correctly, but you're not taxed for the amount you roll over into that.

One other thing to lok for, vcheck to see if your bank charges an annual "handling" fee. Mine did (and I did not realize it). When I got the "bill", I just about hit the roof. They are earning INTEREST on my $$ already, why am I paying a fee? We are still talking this one through.

Peace,

Bear
