Favorite Holiday "movie"
Dec. 17th, 2005 07:24 pmLast year, saw this one, and just re-watched it...
"Love Actually".
I think this has taken the place of any number of good holiday/christmas movies in my mind...
Sweet, british...a little sappy, but very solidly told, covering 8 or 9 stories. With a great cast, and Hugh Grant doing his typical schtick...it works.
Of course, part of my brain shrieked when I saw one of the actors...I can never remember his name, but most recently, he played "The Operative" in "Serenity"...so, it was kinda weird seeing him and not having recognized him in Serenity..of course, upon watching Serenity, you don't really think of things like "Love Actually".
I recommend it...anyone else seen it or have thoughts on it? This thing went through our group like a virus last year, as I recall..:-)

I totally adored that movie.
Date: 2005-12-18 05:04 am (UTC)The kid - oh my gawd, that story line was so good. What was the fathers name, I mean the actor - have loved him in most everything he has been in over the years - I have not caught Kinsington yet, but wanted to.
That about all my thoughts - a good movie to just catch because it is like a virus, like a love bug... (groaning approiate).
later,
Tony

Date: 2005-12-18 07:26 am (UTC)Read that originally they were going to have Atkison's character be an angel, but opted not to.
The kid (Sam)...his storyline was SO much fun..and, him running through the airport..the father was played by Liam Neeson...and, Kiera Knightly in it..
Love bug..nice pun. I wonder who else i can hook on this movie..hmmm...
