Not much to update...listening to a song that made me think of a concert...

SEVERAL years ago, Sting was touring, with Lyle Lovett (Sp?). I can never hear the song "The hounds of winter" without thinking of how that concert opened...

So many good concert moments, and a few bad ones...will NEVER forget seeing Evanescence, before they sucked...which happened to be the second time they were coming through this area...the first show, however, was great...great energy in the room, many friends around, many people I knew from other areas of my life...

I swear, things will get better...I'll look back on the last so many months and laugh. Hell, at this point, I'm not quite at the year mark for having gone to HotR...and still want to go back, but I think I'd like to visit a few other states I've never been to first...

THAT should be part of the vacation plan this year...go to several states I've never seen...or been through. Will have to see if that works out...I know friends who have done that..just packed up, drove as far as finances would allow, then came back..I'd have to almost do a circle, though..not a straight path...because, the straight path is generally boring. I'd rather reach the end (MANY MANY Years down the line), and say that at least it was fun, interesting and exciting..even on its worst days. Hell, probably especially on its worst.

Maybe there's an idea...visit a new state each year...although, I'd say I dread thinking of visiting New York...dunno why, that just seems...the exact opposite of me..how I look at things. Then again, WAY down south might be similar. :-P

I have heard upstate New York is beautiful. Nothing says you have to go to NY city. But I understand if you go WAY down south past Key West it gets kinda wet ;-)

Buffalo is a nice part of New York...I've never been to NYC. Hey, if you go to states I've never been to, I'll go!

I HATE Key West. It's a huge tourist trap.

However, the middle keys are beautiful.

My favorite Key is http://islandfun.com/grassykey/index.html

It's where the dolphin research center is.

Upstate NY is very beautiful. I have been there several times. Driving it in the fall just as the leaves are changing is truly a sight to behold. It actually compares with going through the Smoky mountains when the leaves are changing.

I love Key West. NOTHING matches seeing a sunset or sunrise down there. And the tourist traps can be fun, in moderation.

Buy tourist guides for those states, and for good measure get one for your own state. It's amazing what you don't know is there.
