Weekend...

Weekend flew by, fortunately. Spent part of it sick, and part of it on the road, it seems...

Managed to go to an Arts and Craft thing that a whole bunch of friends were doing...and get a semi-replacement monitor from folks..and played some Diablo II.

It's been an awful long time since I played that game...and, either I've gotten better at strategies in it, or I'm just getting lucky...of course, I don't play the typical "hack/slash" barbarian..I go for the Necromancer in that game...so, yeah, big evil things make me go "squish" a lot, if they get really close.

Kinda fun..but, yeah, it's mainly being a "mindless drone of work/mindless drone of game" zone...

What else? Well, as another person on my friends list stated, the conchair of InConJunction resigned this weekend..this is both good and bad. The good? The new chair actually has a good chance, and the communication skills to make it work. The main part of the job is putting the right people in place, and communicating with them when they have questions/problems/concerns..if the communication isn't there, then the whole of the con suffers. The bad? Well, it's now T-4 months and counting...it can still be done, and pulled together well, but the entire group that's left needs to basically bite the bullet, and do what needs to be done. :-) Me? I'm still out...will do a few programming pieces at the con, and will offer my opinions and advice otherwise, but the responsibility of running a key position is still beyond me.

Today? The password change website at work isn't working..so, that is making things a little problematic.

was wondering if you wanted the computer and keyboard back now that the monitor is dead. also, if you know a place where i can despose of the monitor at. let me know.

Eh, I don't know...I'll want em back, but if you can find a monitor, even a 15" should do ya fine for its needs...until you get the better computer you've been wanting.

S'far as pitching the monitor..I always just put em in the dumpster or such...not sure if that's right or "pc", (heh) But, it seems to work.

What I did for my weekend....

It was just the outpouring of support that was the big kick for me this weekend. Many people filled in the potholes of the committee - and today was a very good day, that last crucial piece which is probably larger than it appears on the surface was filled today. So, in less than 36 hours from start to finish - I had done what the fellow who left had a month to do. Not bad - and many fresh faces to boot - which is pretty kewl. Ask me about next weekend and I will smack you. (hehehehehehehehehee). Oh, also reconfirmed 2 guests and got the honor of announcing a third guest - which was the efforts of our congenial host and a past foe... Interesting indeed.

Well, once the ball gets rolling, the group can do amazing things..it just needs...leadership.

It's gonna stay interesting, for at least another what, 4 months? Still, it can be done. Obviously, I'm pulling for ya. :-)
