Wow...how the hell did THAT happen?

per_soloSo, I get two bills in yesterday...I opened em just now. I'm dreading some of these bills...feels like just enough is on edge that I could slide back, and don't want to..but, anyways. I open the first bill..the phone bill. There's a credit on it. Apparently, I'd misread or such on my old bill, and overpaid last month...so, that bill isn't due. Woohoo! Then, I open the Gas bill...same deal. I'm in a happy mood...
Now, to figure out gifts for people..the "Happy" season, eh? Happy...yeah. I'm actually doing pretty good...I just have to make a concerted effort, which I always, ALWAYS fail, to not look at the news...and, it's very hard to do such. We are bombarded by the media, and by the Spin. Feh.
Then, I start to think of the families who have relatives trapped in Iraq this year..or Afghanistan..and I'll stop here, before I turn this into my Weblog, where such thoughts are better suited.
In other news, I finally watched "Fallen", and enjoyed it quite a bit. Wasn't what I expected...on another area, I'm now wanting to rent the 70s "Salem's Lot" because of the Dark Tower book...and, I'm even tempted to read the book. At some point, I need to read "The Shining" sometime.
But, first, I really ought to finish "Wolves of the Calla", and the other two books loaned to me..."For Love of Evil", and "And Eternity". Guess I needed a break from the Incarnations of Immortality. I read 4 of those books in a row...and, I want to complete the series, but the Dark Tower is a bigger pull...so, we'll see how I do on each. I DO want to read both at once, but once I start rolling in the Tower, I lost track of time, and its passing..so, before I know it, I'll likely be done with it. :-) Probably as early as next week (Monday, as I'm taking Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday off next week...before the holiday, yay), I'll be saying I'm done with "Wolves", and half done with "For Love of Evil".
Hmmm...need something to drink...had a coke, but I'm thinking Hot Cocoa may be good right now.
