Pondering Days...
Apr. 23rd, 2006 01:00 pmDays spent pondering are bad.
I have approximately a month of Unemployment money left.
Jobs are not happening. I'm at the point where Pizza is sounding good again, but Fast Food is still a FUCK no.
Yes, have told all the temp agencies to not just consider me for Tech stuff, but Admin Assistant or anything else...nothing coming from it. Have applied for jobs that are a little bit higher than my skill levels, and heard nothing back.
Considered a roommate, but no one I know needs one, and I've seen the movie "SWF"...not that I think what's her name would want to steal my life, but still.
Right now, I have to seriously consider the fact that at the end of May, I'm moving.
Feeling seriously at the end of the rope...now to find the handhold and pull up.

Date: 2006-04-23 05:34 pm (UTC)I've broadened the search on the sites (monster, CB and others) so that I get a bit more than just the tech stuff...am currently looking through monster again..found one that intrigues me, but scares me (Mystery shopper...that sounds like a scam).
It feels like I've tried more than that, but I'm coming up empty on just what I have tried.
Am working on it...just had to get that out of my head..the fight with UE this week scared me, a tad, and took me to darker places than I'd been in a bit.
And, have bookmarked quite a few on Monster. Part of my problem is the whole "Not gonna be there long" thing...and I must get over that. One of the times that Indy being an "at will" is a big bonus here.
Thanks. :-)

It's part time, so I didn't ever put it on the resume to make it look like I was ever that desperate for work again.
Also? Keep at the book, find some of the "easier niches" and see if you can get your foot in the door.
Do side IT work, or house/pet sitting like I do for extra cash. Oppotunity is out there man, find it.

Date: 2006-04-23 05:59 pm (UTC)Am keeping on the book...had just put it down for a bit..it actually created a conversation on sending 'Thank you' letters for resumes. Must go back through it and look for the "No education" jobs.
Side IT work...I've got one pending..need to call the guy. House sitting..hmmm...never considered that. Pet sitting isn't a bad idea, just finding those pets that don't frighten hell out of me. Although, I was at a dog park on Friday, and none of the dogs there scared me..one barked at me, and a did a "little" jump, but was ok.
Good thoughts.
