Busy Busy...
Apr. 20th, 2004 10:44 amBusy Busy.
Work has been amazingly busy the last few days...mainly, cause my boss is out of town.
We had a company meeting..those are always busy and fun...this one was talking about several people wanting to go see Cirque when we have our company retreat in Vegas this year...I need to figure out what i want to do while out in Vegas...I've debated going to see Penn and Teller. I know that a good friend is coming up from Arizona to visit, and while I'm out there, I really ought to do dinner or lunch with Tristen, if her schedule permits. I'm not gambling much while out there, as I have to look at it as "how much money can I afford to lose by gambling"...not really cynical, but worst casing a realist opinion. :-)
Found myself in a mood to watch a couple of movies...I saw Kill Bill Volume 1 last week, and now I'd like to see Volume 2...yes and no on it being typical Tarantino...I'll post a full review of it sometime soon. No, the two that are pulling me are The Exorcist (which I've never seen), and The Graduate, which I've only seen bits and pieces of.
I'm still prepping for the convention...but, have gotten no responses from people yet. Currently, I've got invitations out to Peter David, Michael Whelan, Aaron Williams, and James Marsters...why is it that my convention is 14 months away, and that feels like oh so little time?

Date: 2004-04-27 10:56 am (UTC)Yes, I have to go...no choice in the matter...am I glad the company is footing the bill for me to go to Vegas? Hell yes...would I be going otherwise? No...do I wish that the company thought about the fact that several of the people here can barely afford to go? Yes. Will I have much money to do anything with there? No. Unless the $20 or so that I take to gamble blossoms into more cash...and, I'm not counting on that.
Yeah, everything I want to do within walking distance...because cabs are expensive. :-) Which is why I'll be bringing games for others to play...the low cash group, same people I got to hang out with in Cinci. :-)

Good Luck

Date: 2004-04-27 11:25 am (UTC)Frugal...that's what I'm working on..which is why I'm taking some of my games (Steve Jackson games like Munchkin, Fluxx and Chrononauts from Looney Labs, and a few Cheapass games), so that others who are in similar can have a good time...
Of course, once they realize that we could play those games anytime here at home... :-P
Now, if I manage to win a few thousand dollars...if I got on a roll gambling, I've already decided that my lose limit is $30 (MAYBE $40), and my win limit is $10,000...tho, that might also be $5K...hard to say, and that's why I've giving it a little thought in advance.
Don't think I know Pai Gow...what is it?
