Ah, to laugh.
Oct. 8th, 2006 09:28 pmWell, went out to a friends to check on their cats, and study a bit more.
After, went to start the car. *CLICKCLICKCLICK*
Ah crap. Waited, tried again, same result. Started laughing, and called parents to come up and jump the sucker.
End result, will be taking the day off tomorrow, driving to the mechanic, and having the battery/starter/alternator checked. Not exactly a restful day off, but hey, while I'm waiting for them to fix my car, I can study even more for the test tomorrow.
While trying to get the car fixed, Angrykoala called. Apparently, I'm not the only one who was having car issues today, but his were taken care of. He needed to know if I'd recorded House last week. I had not, but am going to try to see if I can find it for him. Chatted on a few other things, and will check back with him later this week (or tomorrow, we'll see).
Also, as I don't have a working graphics program, and cannot find my photoshop CD, and am feeling like I'm repeating myself doing banners, I'll just make the next two announcements.
First, Happy birthday GOLDSTEP! It sounded like it was pretty good for you, and I saw Jewish Fluxx at Gencon this year. Have been meaning to take a closer look. Had you played Fluxx before? Any interesting gifts?
Secondly, happy PRE-Birthday to Kikibelle. You don't post much, nor have we talked much, but I'm glad you're on my FL, and I chuckle when you rant about the work folks. Have a good day, I would say order in, but I've heard how much you enjoy cooking, so if that equals a good day for you, then DO it. :-)
Going to bed soon, night all. As far as the laughter in the title, well, Stranger once again came to mind. So, enjoy this paragraph taken from the Wiki entry on "Stranger in a Strange Land"
********************************************
To help humanity better themselves, he begins a church/school dedicated to the teaching of the Martian language, inner discipline, paranormal abilities, immortality, and to spiritual and sexual bonding, under the concept that all people are God, and should love each other. He challenges traditional values such as monogamy and property, and blames the world's problems on people's refusal to grok each other. In the novel, the most powerful church is the Fosterite Church of the New Revelation, a satire on revivalist media megachurches. The Fosterites have plenty of willing acolytes ready to attack other religions, newspapers etc. who fail to respect their version of the truth. Ironically, the Fosterites turn out to be true agents of divine forces (yet all religions are proven to be true; reference to the Islam Paradise is made in the afterlife, proving Smith to be right when he evoked this belief to Harshaw).

Date: 2006-10-09 08:31 pm (UTC)Jewish Fluxx is ok, I mean it is just the same game with 7 more cards...
I'd like Buddist Fluxx, since I'd imagine that it would have actions like "Zen Mind -- whoever cares the least may draw three cards and play two of them right now. Discard the last one to eschew physical attachment."
And as far as presents, Jess gave me the big one: a Serenity comic. Thanks for asking though.
