I may have just pissed off half of my Sports Managing class.

And I'm actually ok with that.

The exam was 40 minutes, to answer 50 questions, of which about 15 were short answer.

There has been a LOT of bitching about that. "40 minutes is too short a time", or "This is unfair".

One student said that it's not up to the instructor to tailor the exams to each student. Basically, she went out on the limb about the fact that we knew in advance that the test was 40 minutes..

And I went with that, and backed her up. It's shortened, here, but the basics of my follow up was that the field we are in is insane with pressure, and time crunches, and a whole host of other things. It is, by no means, an easy job. And complaining on the e-mails is not going to accomplish a thing. If they are upset, they need to either e-mail the instructor, or talk to their advisor.

We'll see if I get any hate mail for that, but really, these are college students, taking a 300 level class. This is the second 300 level class I was taking, and I managed to pull a B on the other one (YAY), but have no idea on this one. Sports do not come easy to me. Still, we'll see what happens.

*heh* Yeah, I'm noting a lot of disparities between me doing this as an adult, and the "kids" who are in such classes.
