Jan. 10th, 2007 01:44 pmOk. Quick updates.
The RA thing is for fall semester. I'm still going to check it out.
School texts have been purchased, but there is one that still isn't there. Feh, ugh, it happens.
Saw "Happily N'ever After" last night, and it was better than I'd have imagined. Cute. Nowhere NEAR as good as Shrek, and Sarah Michele Gellar started to get on my nerves after a bit, but Sigourney Weaver was GREAT. Makes me wish I had the box that has Galaxy Quest in it somewhere nearby.
Found a Bittorrent for "The Wizard of Speed and Time", a movie that friends have told me I should watch for years now. And, the torrent is sanctioned by the guy who did the movie. The hope is the eventually, it will allow him to fund a real DVD release. There is an "unofficial" dvd cover out there, and I found a better poster I liked, so photoshopped that on it. Either way, here's the link to the torrent. http://www.mininova.org/tor/347217
Recently (ok, a few months ago), a group of LJ friends once again did a CD exchange. If anyone wants a copy of the one I put together, let me know. The tracklist follows.
1. B5 sdtck - Chrysalis
2. Nick Cave - Red Right Hand
3. Concrete Blonde - Mexican Moon
4. Matisyahu - King without a crown
5. Mister Mister - Broken Wings
6. Evanescence - Lacrymosa
7. Black Book Band - Madman on the Watchtower
8. Ivy - Worry About You
9. Groove Armada - Edge Hill
10. Outkast - The Way You Move
11. Joe Purdy - Washed Away
12. Josh Joplin - Camera One
13. Sheryl Crowe - I Shall Believe
14. Judy Collins - In My Life
15. Metisse - Nomah's Land
16. Kenny Loggins - I'm Alright
17. Natasha Bedinfield - Unwritten
On some of them, there is another "track 4", which is Alice Cooper's "Nothing's Free".
Fun project to put together, though it was described as an "Emo X-Files Mix". :-P Eventually? I may ask for help in putting together a true Emo mix, take out several songs, and just have fun with that. So, if anyone has a particularly "dark" song that pulls to you when things are bad, let me know, as it may end up included. And then do the opposite, put together a true "Bouncy Happy" mix. But, brain is frying with school details right now, so those are plans for another day.
Again, anyone interested, let me know.
And that's it for now.

Date: 2007-01-10 09:01 pm (UTC)Per your questions about music, I personally listen to the Wall CD when I'm depressed.. Makes me feel not quite so depressed.. As for happy bouncy songs, there are too many to list that I listen to. :)

Date: 2007-01-10 09:41 pm (UTC)The Wall. Hadn't even thought of that one, but yeah, I can see "Comfortably Numb" jumping right out of that one. Oh? List just a few Happy/Bouncy. I'll look forward to compiling. :-)
*HUGS* Hope all is well. Saw your post. If you want to get together sometime, let me know. Just borrowed "The Five Doctors" from the library, and haven't made it TOO far into it yet, but enough to go "wow, new has changed a bit".

Date: 2007-01-12 12:52 am (UTC)Happy Songs that make me bouncy? Few off the top of my head, Harry Belefonte's "Turn the world around" (Love this one... After Louis Armstong's What a Wonderful World (same version they planed on Good Morning Vietnam), it ranks up as being a favorite song) and Harry's "Jump in the Line"... Movin' Right along sung by Kermit and Fozzie... "They All Laughed" sung by Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald.. That should get you started with understanding my musical bouncy tastes. :)
