Made it to Mishawaka..
Jun. 13th, 2004 10:12 pmAnd my brain is a jumble...
There is more than corn in Indiana..there is mile, upon mile of road...non-ending, road...after 3 hours on the road, I'm a little fatigued.
Got checked in...found out that the training people who are paying for the room never confirmed...so, after copying all my paperwork, Extended Stay gave me the room...two people that were extremely helpful were Carol (who got my call after Mapquest directions proceeded to get me lost), and Candace, who remembers the Training Company..something about them. Got in, started getting set up in the room...tested the dial up (which is how I'm posting this)
After all that, I really wasn't in a mood to think about food..went out, close to the Hotel, to a place called Papa Vino's...good place. Tried their Chicken Vesuvio, which will get me through tomorrow as well...had a good waiter named Courtney, whose only mistake was to get distracted by a pretty girl while getting me a refill...eventually, he came back over towards me (He'd checked a bit before that), and as he looked at my table, a look of horror crossed his face. I smiled, said it was ok...I'd recommend it, for those up in the Mishawaka area...it's right in front of the Meijer...you can't miss it.
Room was VERY warm when I came in...am cooling it now..and getting ready to go to sleep...must wake up tomorrow in order to get to class on time. I'm factoring in "lost" time...you know, time for me to get lost, and then find the place.
Listened to a couple of "Second City" cds on the way north...Half Price books had a good book on the history of the Second City improvisation group...fun info.
Tv only has two outlets, and no plugs on the back for my DVD player...must figure out a way..hmmm..
Ok, enough of that. I'm tired, and getting ready to sleep...BIG thanks to Savidya, who loaned me her Cellular for this trip...it's already come in handy a few times...still don't know that I need one full time, but I can see the appeal.
Night...more info after class tomorrow.
(P.S. Working on laptop, via Dialup, is worse than I remember...the dialup is a bit slow, and the keyboard for the laptop is bugging me...must remember next time to bring an external keyboard/mouse. :-) )
