Aren't we at the point where we can finally say that the "I didn't know that shaking a baby could hurt it", or "The baby just wouldn't stop crying" excuses are done, and we can just set up roadside execution units for these idiots?
Or, at the very least, sterilization units?
I'm of the mind that if you commit violence against a child, Bye. Now, that is not to say I'm anti-abortion. For the first part, it's not my body, not my life. I'm also not meaning to open a can of worms, but I'm not yet convinced that a collection of cells is a human being. Then again, I know people my OWN age who I'm not sure are human beings. Of course, I also tend to follow one of Hicks' ideas.
"We gotta come to some new ideas about life folks ok? I'm not being blase about abortion, it might be a real issue, it might not, doesn't matter to me. What matters is that if you believe in the sanctity of life then you believe it for life of all ages. That's what I hate about this child-worship syndrome going on. "Save the children! They're killing children! How many children were at Waco? They're killing children!" What does that mean? They reach a certain age and they're off your fucking love-list? Fuck your children, if that's the way you think then fuck you too. You either love all people of all ages or you shut the fuck up.”

Date: 2007-01-24 05:41 pm (UTC)Until then you are just trading your soul for the ability to afford retirement.
Seriously, sterilizing won't help unless you can also keep those people away from others. Babysitters, daycare people, and so forth are all dangerous if you take the right view.
But I know why we have our ageism for kids. We think they can't take care of themselves and to some degree we are right. Infants need more protection; think monkeys.
But until we solve the issue of overpopulation, maybe we need to consider that this Soper guy is just one less mouth we need to feed.
