For those smarter at this than I.

Ok. I have a Nokia 6133 phone. I'm supposed to be able to put customized ring tones on it. I've now got the good software to at least edit my MP3s down to the 30 second mark that these like. However, I can connect to my phone via bluetooth, but cannot get the ring tones to play. I've converted them to AAC (which is what one format thing said I needed to do), and WMA (which is what another said), and still, no dice.

Anyone out there who is a tad more tech savvy who may be able to tell me what I'm doing wrong, or what software I need to do the mp3 to "whatever" conversion?

Other than that, I did ok on my test, not great, but not horrid. I'm all caught up on Season 2 of Galactica (DAMN..another show to catch up on season 3 now, feh). Not a whole lot else is going on. Still feel like I'm in a black hole. *shrug* All I can do is keep forward. though, I finally, after however many years, saw most of "This is Spinal Tap", and have to marvel at the people who think they are/were a real band. Hmmm.

Anything interesting going on in the world I should be aware of? Not a whole lot is jumping out at me. I've got a minor "rant" that is in the back of my head, but won't post it just yet. And, as I had a few people ask me, I'll explain a little more on my cryptic post of last week.

Hm. According to the Nokia website, that phone supports mp3s. Maybe your files aren't going to your phone via the Bluetooth. I use http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/index.php which will work for any phone with internet access.

*nod* It says it supports MP3, I can play it as an MP3 (On the phone even), but not as a Ring Tone. I can copy it to the phone, play it, then copy it off the phone. I read, on some site, that there is a very weird format it has to be in (Thanks to DRM crap), but the way I'm putting them together, there is no DRM to worry about. Hmmm...

Who is your carrier? It appears that T-Mobile locked the phones from playing mp3s and that you can get a code from them to unlock that. But anyway.....back to the point....I will assume you have enough memory for the songs. I read another suggestion about changing the format to .amr.

If you have the Nokia PC suite installed use the Nokia Multimedia Player to open the .mp3 then "save as" .amr The .amr files will play as ring tones in the 6133.
