Talked to a guy today who came in to speak to us in class last week. Yup, if I proceed forward with the new/shiny idea? I'm looking at a career change. It'd still be good to have the certificate, but the focus of what I do would be on the translating gig.
Hrrm. Fortunately, that's not an "OMG NOW" decision, but he gave me more things to look at. More companies to check with, including the Deaf School (which my fave teacher/adviser had already given me), in short, more things to ponder.
Not a whole lot else is happening right now. Assignments due, quiz on Friday, that whole assorted mess.
Also, a few of you may have noticed more locked posts going on in here over the last, oh, year. That increased after I moved down here. Honestly? I found out I had "lurkers".
Most times, that's not a horrible thing. And, here, it's not even that horrible. But, There are a few things that most folks who just check in on me here don't need to know/see/etc. My close friends, my family..they all know what is going on with me, and don't need to surreptitiously update themselves via here. So yeah, if you're not the above, and want to know? Join LJ. :-P It's mostly painless, and I know I have one friend on here who updates occasionally (when he needs to), that I claim partial responsibility for introducing him to this chaos. But, it's all good.
In short, if you're friended on here, particularly if I know you RL? Then I trust you, to a pretty amazing degree actually. If you're lurking here, like a thief in the night? Don't expect to get a whole lot.
Sorry, friends, but that's been a thought that's been going in my head for a while, and needed to finally get it out. Found out that my move down here was noted as things going particularly bad for me (so one lurker there), and that another had been using this to update on what else was going on a while ago (Lurker 2). So, by law of averages, I'm assuming I've got at least triple that number if not higher. :-P
I may ask for advice/other opinions on the whole "Career path" thing, later..for now, I'm trying to puzzle out the good/bad/pitfalls myself right now.
