For those smarter than I...

If you were trying to find information, such as Trial information, jail time, for a murder a few years ago, and could not find any information aside from the initial report in the papers, how would you research that? My curiosity button got hit, and I'm running into a blank. I have a hard time believing that there was no follow up story, no report of a murderer going to jail..

Then again, I'm normally confused and amazed by the way the system works. *shrug*

Also google the local county courthouse records from where your inmate lived. Hopefully these links will give you some information.

Contact the Clerk's Office of whatever county the person was tried in. Phone numbers will be in the government section of the phone book. If it's Marion I can help you figure out who will help you and who will be a pissy county-worker. ;)

*heh* Actually, the link above that Ankita provided gave me the info I was looking for, but thanks. Will keep you in mind if I ever have to deal with pissy county bureaucrats. :-)
