This was a GREAT chocolate place, on the north side of Indianapolis. It also had the best Hot Chocolate, but even better Hot Caramel. It is a place that went out of business, thanks to a higher rent at its location.

Lots of truffles (and a milk/milk truffle that was my favorite).

I don't remember when the place went out of business, but I know that when we were planning "Con-Sept", that was the prime planning location. :-P

Well, I had a chocolate craving recently, and for that place specifically, thanks to an e-mail going around. Desidera replied back to a response of mine, blaming her, and stated that the place still existed. So, of course I had to go check it out (and will be ordering from there).

So, out of food places I will eventually have to order from, we now have Debrands added. :-)

Definitely. Hopefully, the next time you visit this area, either a road trip can be declared, or some of Debrand's stuff will be stocked with friends. Of course, there's also a chocolate place in Evansville (? I think), that Mobo and others would buy from..they had a very good Cherry/Chocolate mix, and Raspberry/Chocolate mix. :-)

As far as the other places...Food Ireland has stuff that looks neat, but I've never ordered, and Coffee Fool I've yet to order from, yet, though I have tried some of their stuff, thanks to Desidera and AngryKoala.

And you're right... that Hot Caramel was absolutely TO DIE FOR.

Now I can tell people again, when they demand chocolate for favors (don't ask), that I can bring DeBrand's.

Per, you didn't know?!? I think that they lost their lease somewhere around the 2002/2003 timeframe. The last time we were in there they told us they were going to have to close shop but told us that we could get chocolates online at any time. I've ordered from them several times. They're great at shipping them. I had to leave some of their carmel and hot chocolate with Hotshot when I left Indy because we didn't have a way to refrigerate it on the way to Florida.

I just found out recently that they had lost their lease/rent increase/etc. Well, I should say, I knew that they had gone out, due to one of the above reasons..it was just recently I found they were online. *nods*

I was wondering how, if some were bought, to get it to you. Bear was telling me that the weather isn't THAT hot down there. ;-)

Yes, the Hot Caramel mix is going to be mine...I remember those, so well..and, remember dragging others over there for their first times.

And, the other question that comes to mind..what would it take to open a satellite here? :-P
