Go give some love.

Tom has injured his leg, is in the hospital, and in some pain. He is hoping to be well to make Gencon, but unfortunately, will not be able to make Duckcon, or Incon this year.
Tom is one of what I consider the finer perks of conventioning for me. When prepping for InCon '05, I had my programming head call and tell me that Tom Smith had called her, wanting to come to the con, and she hoped it was ok for her to give him my phone number. My response was "Wait, THE Tom Smith?". :-) He called, and we chatted for a few hours, and it ended up with him coming as my Filk/Music GOH (at the time it was Filk GOH, but anymore, for good reason, there is usually a different title).
I've seen him at many cons since, including InCon the last few years, and it's always a blast listening to him, or just chatting. If you've NOT gotten a chance to check out his music, I highly recommend you go to http://www.tomsmithonline.com and see what you think. He has a lot of fun songs, many available as MP3's sold from his site.
Fingers are crossed that the surgery he needs goes well, and that recovery is great.
Posted, as some of you know him, and even if you don't, he deserves outpourings of "Feel better soon!", or "Kick the doctors' asses if they don't listen".
