Uh...duh... no....how stupid and lame. That would be like remaking ... I don't know, Casablanca or Gone with the Wind... not that RHPS compares to those in the way of classic hits, but...
I'm bound to be branded a heretic for this, but ...
It doesn't bother me as long as they actually understand RHPS, improve what can be improved, and don't fix what isn't broke.
I'm not saying that's going to happen. I fully expect a travesty here. But I'm mildly interested that someone is going to try.
Anyone who remakes Rocky Horror should do it in a different style than the original ... otherwise why do it? If I had my choice of having RHPS remade in any style, my off-the-cuff first pick would be Bollywood. Seriously. It's the only way I can imagine Rocky Horror being any weirder, and they do know their musicals there. I don't think the Indian censors would let them do that subject matter, though.
I'm unusual in that I love seeing remakes of my favorite films and hearing covers of my favorite songs. Usually they aren't as good as the originals and sometimes they are better, but almost always I find it thrilling that somebody liked what I liked well enough to try to copy it.
not even reading that article my first thought 'dear god why?' there is no point , the movie stands on it's own and there's no need to redo it. crazy, money grubbing execs.
It's because they don't seem to think (and this could be true, but I think it's an endless self-fulfilling prophecy) that today's youth (and by youth, I mean anyone under 30) just wouldn't understand or appreciate anything that was made more than five years ago.

Why don't they shoot a few more of my sacred cows while they're at it?
Sonuvabitch.
(um yeah, hate the idea and I'm too tired to be tactful about it, LOLOL)
