I Wish....
Jun. 29th, 2009 10:48 amthat I had easy access to ALL the Bloom County comic strips. I miss some of the stories, the fun, the poking fun at how the government works (or doesn't...).
It was the strip I grew up with...from my Grandfather giving me a copy of one of the early books (Penguin Dreams and Stranger Things), to the end of the series.
I rarely kept up with Outland, and kept up even less with Opus..but, the original is still one of my all time faves.
In the future, they are releasing Mega-Books that capture a GREAT number of the strips..some that have never before been collected. I can't wait to get those, and relive the memories. Yeah, some of the jokes are very time/context specific...but, some aren't. Some are timeless.
I need to find either more Bloom County icons, or perhaps a Bloom County mood theme. It's almost time for the Eternal Sunshine mood theme to go its way.

Date: 2009-06-30 08:23 am (UTC)Bloom County is one of those beautiful things that makes you laugh even when you're down. I have spent years rationing out my collections for those times when I really needed the boost. I think I finally finished reading them right before going on sabbatical.
