Another story..
Jul. 28th, 2009 02:05 pmThanks to Wickedsin, I have an itch to tell another story. Fortunately, this one is short.
Years ago, when I was in High School, I ended up attempting to ride a motor scooter that belonged to a friend.
Not knowing anything about such things, I took off...probably much too quickly for how little I knew about the thing. Took a corner, and hit a patch of gravel..started to lose it, put my foot down to steady it and myself..and put it too close to the bike.
*tumble*
Bike was scratched up, as was I. I remember it feeling odd..as it was a bright summer day, but my leg felt wet. Checked..no rip in the jeans, so I didn't think I'd hurt my leg...though, I had manged to scrape the layer of skin on my left arm (just below the elbow) raw...but I didn't see a puddle (Yes, I was a dumbass).
Got home, removed jeans to realize that yeah, I'd put a gash into my knee...which for a long time left a quarter sized scar..that scar is now..maybe dime sized. I've not looked at it in a long time.
The arm was wrapped due to the injury...which made play rehearsal (I want to think that was Freshman year...so it would have been "Bye Bye Birdie") problematic.
It healed, but I've since been wary of anything with two wheels and a motor. I've ridden on a motorcycle since then..but was already fried (interestingly enough, it was a ride back from the hospital Randy was in), so don't recall that very well.
And that is my boring story on why I'm wary of motorcycles. :-)
