Just when I think I'm not an idiot, things happen to prove me wrong.

In this case, it was the power cord and converter for my SNES. They were hooked to it, and lying behind the bedroom entertainment center.

Feh. So, I plugged them both in, pulled one of the old cartridges (Super Mario World), and put it in and hit the button.

Nothing.

Tried another cart...still nothing. Tried the blowing on trick that worked on the original NES, still nothing.

So, at this point, I'm calling it dead.

RIP, Super Nintendo. Over the course of 14 years, you brought quite a bit of entertainment to me, and still manage to have a few of my all time favorite games (Super Mario World, Super Metroid, Legend of Zelda, and of course, Final Fantasy III (Which is actually Final Fantasy 6, but that's a whole other story).

When I get a job, I'll have to look at replacing it..if I can find a working model again.

Yes, I could find an emulator, since I do technically own those roms...but, it's just not the same, playing it on the computer, trying to map the keys of your keyboard to fit it..there's something about just flipping that switch, sitting in front of the TV with a Joypad (I think that's what those were called), and losing several hours of your life.

I know a place down here on the Southside where you can get old game
systems that are still "in the box" and games for them
-- Don't know if they are actually
new-new, but I've been looking at getting the Nintendo myself...
