I must admit, friends and I had Pernod (The local Absinthe "variety") many years ago...I'll say this for it, it gave a VERY quick buzz...now, as to the original...I'm curious to try it, if only once. I can picture ONE and only ONE shot of it...
There's talk that a friend is going to buy some for another friend...and again, I must admit to a curiousity on it...
The site above mentions no real harm, but of course, more research is required...anyone would be a fool to believe whatever they read on the Net. :-)
