Watching Batman Begins, and I must say..so far, DAMN.
Once again, I get to marvel at Gary Oldman...Oldman plays Gordon..and I marvel at the mans' ability to change to almost any role.
The story? For those who read the original "Batman: Year One", this has a very similar feel to that. However, the continuity has been altered, and brought up to date with some of the other things done at the last time I was reading the comic book (Several years ago).
The cast? What can I say...I particularly avoided this movie, due to the last two Batman movies...and this gives me hope that, if they have the same writers, it can do amazing things.
Damned if it hasn't given me hope for the franchise...of course, I think part of the appeal of any comic book turned movie, is that if they have the writers, or at least, the stories that have done really well, adapting those in a good way can be a boon for the series...and that's why many comic book movies fail...inspiration, overnalysis of what the audience wants, and a host of other reasons.
That is part of why I agree with Filkertom on his concerns with the upcoming Superman movie..
But with how good Batman Begins is, and how much I was scared of it beforehand, I have to say, this is a point in its favor...

Date: 2006-01-15 10:48 pm (UTC)as far as the superman movie, i'm under the impression that bryan singer is starting from the second superman movie and going from there.
wasn't too happy with kate bosworth as lois lane but kevin spacey as lex luthor is genius. i'm still up for seeing it.
