Media Mind...

per_soloSometimes, I hate my media mind...I can hear MANY songs, and immediately clue to scenes of films they were in...and that tends to put me in a mood to see the movie again. Last night, I got to borrow and watch "Raiders of the lost ark", and enjoyed it thoroughly...felt like I was 8 again. 7 or 8. In the Artcraft Theatre, in Franklin, and seeing that movie for the first time...the thrill of Indy running through the jungle, trying to avoid the Hovitos.
Well, today, that sense hit again..I put in a CD or random noise, and found a song that I've had to listen to once or twice..."Suddenly", by Olivia Newton John...from the movie Xanadu.
Xanadu was a bad movie..it had some VERY cool scenes, and some neat ideas, but was killed dead by the lead actor..whom, as I recall, really hasn't done much of anything else in film since. Xanadu is really one of those "guilty pleasure" movies for me...ONJ as a Muse was very cool...some of the graphics were cool, in a cheesy 80s sorta way...to be honest, I'm not quite sure WHY I like the movie, I just do...and, now and then, various things will trigger my wanting to see it again...right now is one of those moments, because, if it boasted little else, the soundtrack was good.
