Feel Better...

However, the big takeaway from the weekend? I should get out, even for a little bit, as a weekend without some form of social contact just makes me more insane...
Of course, with the ball of wonderful I am lately, I'm not sure that human contact is that good a thing...as my sarcasm and cynicism will likely shine through. :-P
Surprised by mom on the phone today...apparently, my niece is writing. :-) Mom mentioned that, perhaps sometime, I might be able to come up with an idea for her, to do some sort of short film...like I did back in High School..
The amusing part? I don't remember that memory anymore, until prodded...then, it comes back with the force of mack truck.
It wasn't THAT good a movie, but for their senior project, my best friend and a classmate of his did a rip-off of "An Occurence at Owl Creek Bridge" (likely, why that story sticks out in my mind from Twilight Zone as hard as it does), and we "modernized" it...basically, Randy (Best friend at the time) was caught smuggling gas out of Russia...and sentenced to death...he proceeds to pull weapons out of everywhere, slaughtering all the enemy soldiers in sight, and then is "jerked back to reality" as he is hung...I remember that, for blood dribbling out of his mouth, we had Cherry Mister Misty (A Dairy Queen drink)...just the Cherry formula, and had it dribbling out of his mouth..said it was the most foul tasting stuff ever...I can't remember the grade they got on that, but for originality, I'm pretty sure they got high marks. Filmed "on location" in Camp Atterbury...no permission..hell, we were High Schoolers..just had someones mom's Camcorder, a rough idea, and a hell of a lot of improv. Remember at one moment, Randy fell into the water, and it was COLD...no one knows the lack of risk of life like a teenager in high school, eh? Of course, this is the same boy that was willing to take damn near any stupid risk...like riding on top of a truck (or was it the hood? Never seem to remember that story right, and it's moot anymore).
Of course, for how fresh that memory was, and what little of it comes back, I'm mildly annoyed I don't remember more of it...
Hadn't thought of that in years...and, yeah, I may have to help my niece with something like that, eventually..see what she's writing and what she'd want to do..
Of course, Mom and I both agreed, it may be good to wait a few years on that. :-P
