If it weren't for bad luck....
Feb. 24th, 2006 06:53 pmSubtitled, "I didn't know Longshot was playing in the area..."
So, on the way home, I ended up behind a MAMMOTH SUV....
It hit a wooden box of some sort, absolutely splintering it...
No time to dodge, I soundly ran over what the SUV left behind..
Made a stop at Best Buy, came out, and noticed my driver's tire was...MUCH lower than it had been..proceeded to drive QUICKLY to get to Big O Tires...
Got there at 10 til 6:00, their closing time...hoping it can be patched...the guy says there is no way they can get it in, but he'll put air in it, and take a quick look to verify my thought that it is dead...upon looking, he finds at least 3 nails...
Feh...so, we talk of putting the donut on, and Mark (guy at Big O) says, "Well, ok...I can replace em if I've got em here, it won't take that long", at which point he and the guy working with him proceed to get both tires replaced. Total cost? $138..and a DEEP thank you to the benefactor without whom I'd be a babbling wreck over this right now..as it is? My brain on the drive home said I should be panicking and freaking out, but I couldn't...whether that's due to feeling a little safer, or due to exhaustion...I'm not sure. I'll chalk it up to the feeling safer...
Now, the fun? I just replaced the front two tires in October...and 2 weeks ago, had my tires rotated...so, the tires with the Road Hazard? Were on the back...*shakes head*
At least I was able to get the tires replaced, and quickly at that..for that? I'll recommend Big O, at 86th and Zionsville, to anyone.
And with that...think I'm gonna veg on Diablo II a bit...maybe watch "Dream a Little Dream"...
So, did anyone happen to have a REALLY lucky experience today? (Yes, that would be the Longshot reference above...for the real Comic Geeks reading this)
