Mar. 1st, 2006 10:31 amOne of these days, I may have to steal Sa's idea of the formatting for updating...
The problem is that, I have nothing substantial to say anymore...I'm not going to just go all angsty, whiny, EMO...but, I have no time, or energy, for anything else.
Can't recall if I said this...the convention had it's turn around...and RoyalCrowe is now the person running things. I have a lot of faith that if the angst that is the con can be turned around, he is the one who can do it. Already, within a week, he's accomplished what the former chair couldn't in a month.
So, there is hope on that front...
I'm planning on going to Marcon this year...anyone else? I know that a few of us are going to be pimping the local con, with our wonderfully fun Video Trivia DVDs, and Top Ten worst stuff...giving some DVDs away, drinking, and just overall having fun...our local over there says he's already arranged a Hall Booth..
And, I MAY run some SJ Games out there..at this point, I'm debating running a few at Incon...I'm only doing a few panels this year (and some of the prep work before hand), so that's good...was told "Well, as former chair, you're getting in regardless"...which, while nice, was always done under the assumption that former chairs had invested enough in the con that they would likely still be doing things to help...
It's so weird..my convention seems so far away, so long ago...then again, a shitload has happened between then and now...just today, was asked if my Amazon list was updated...this whole "birthday at the end of the month" thing is...weird. I know it's there..I even know what day it is on this year..but, I keep forgetting just how close it is..
So, yeah, I'll muddle through with these thoughts.
Anything interesting going on out there for anyone else? Anyone else planning to make Marcon this year?

Date: 2006-03-01 03:48 pm (UTC)What *DO* you want for you Bday? Party or not??
I think instead of stealing a format, take the parts you like, and make up new stuff for the rest. Like start your own 5 a day, that's always fun and get audience participation, which could be a good thing since you are bored at work!

Date: 2006-03-01 03:56 pm (UTC)eeehhhhhh...I have no idea what i want for my birthday. That seems so unimportant in regards to the whole Job thing...party? Um..not so sure on a party (fuck, this means I'm 33, too...doesn't it? Feh).
Hmmm..I will have to think on that idea....5 a day...5 good things then 5 bad things?

Date: 2006-03-01 04:44 pm (UTC)Um, I can't get you "No idea", I think it's all sold out at Amazon.com. As for the rest of that? A Bit WishyWashy Aren'tcha?
That's a lovely thing, but hard to do each day, I like the one good one not so good, but I mean more like change it each day, you know, 5 random facts, 5 foods you love, 5 you hate, 5 songs you want to hear, 5 things that make you want to blow up your office, so on and so forth.

Date: 2006-03-01 05:04 pm (UTC)*heh* Yes, I know...I'll think on the Amazon thing. Wishy Washy is my middle name at times...I'm just amazed that the birthday really doesn't matter that much to me this year...so, no idea what to do.
Ah! That's an even better idea...wonder if I can come up with a list of things to have 5 of each day...

Date: 2006-03-02 12:29 am (UTC)I am going to Origins this year though. Signed up when we could do the Bring a friend who's never been" offer and that made it $20 bucks apiece.

Date: 2006-03-02 02:16 pm (UTC)As is, Marcon will be fun..cheap place to stay, should be relatively cheap to get into, and all it'll really take is gas to get out there.
