Well, here is is, quarter after 9:00, on Friday...

And, I get told that we have two "temps" coming in next week...one starting on Monday, one on Tuesday.

These two temps don't need laptops, but need to be able to do what two of our current users are doing...so, now i have to make one machine back up, and I can't figure out how to do that, and format the machine, and get all the software loaded that one of our users uses...and then do the same on Monday. Or, maybe back up the machine I'll use on Sunday, or start it..either or.

7 hours for an install...damnit.

Backed UP...

Ok...the machine is now backed up (Thank God Veritas software is so much more user-friendly than Computer Associates POS)...and, formatting/installing is now happening.

If I'm lucky, I'll have this done in 4 hours...not counting lunch..then I can at least get the other machine backed up, and formatted...we'll see.

Still irritated, but now it's a "There's nothing else I can do but bitch" mode...well, and slump through it...yes, my friends...the happy thoughts of Alcohol DID come to me, but I quickly dismissed it, since my boss is a prude. :-P

Most of one computer...

Ok, so MOST of one computer is done...and, I'm currently updating the "Crucial" updates for Windows 2000..isn't it great that it says you have 2 crucial updates, yet when you finish those, you've got 5 more that just popped up...I love Microsoft...

Still, if it weren't for their fuck ups, I'd be out of a job...what a world, if computer software ran flawlessly...

And, I'm kinda tired of the "Computer Wars"....somewhere, in the future, we'll hear some kid saying "Ya know, we fought the computer wars for you, so you could have Apples, but no, you wanna sit there and bitch about their faults..."

Ah well...if you want a fun satire of Apple/PC, take a look at issue #5 of "Nodwick"...entitled "The 13th Edition"....you'll laugh.

Work is close to being over...I'm happy for that, for sure...and, after work, go watch what will be a fun episode of Buffy, then go to eat Sushi with a bunch of friends..then, home to sleep, then out tomorrow...to a Lake with one group of friends, then a birthday party for another...then, Sunday, am gonna try to visit family, if I don't pull myself into work...ah well.
