Jun. 5th, 2006 08:04 pmWas just told that I should be paid to be a "Life Coach"...
Which, of course, I've always found such comments...um, not quite laughable, but a bit off...kinda the "remove the log from your eye before helping someone with the splinter in theirs" thing...
Kinda the Happy Harry "If I knew anything about love" comments...
So, have checked a few websites (The normal when I see something that sounds interesting, but I have no real clue about), and it SOUNDS interesting..but, I hear terms about starting your own business, and then the wave of nausea starts to hit...
Does anyone know anything about starting your own business? Or about Life coaching in particular? I mean, to me, a bit of it sounds like being an interested third party, and just trying to think of how to help...things that the person being coached hasnt' thought of.
And yes, I fully realize that many of you have been acting as life coaches to me lately...I just...don't know. And the irony in the above sentence makes me grin and wince.
Thoughts?

Date: 2006-06-06 12:25 am (UTC)Then again, the way I'm looking at it is psychologically...that "helping" kick in the back of my head...and no, this won't be a "quick fix" to anything right now...still have to go through with the plans I'm currently making..just was curious on what peoples' thoughts were. :-)

Date: 2006-06-06 01:02 am (UTC)1. Take an overpriced course that will 'certify' you in life coaching.
2. Try to get clients and start life coaching.
There aren't any certifications or anything that you need. You just need people that will pay you to listen to their problems and try to give them some direction in life.
As for the business part, I can't help you too much with that. It varies from state to state. So you'd have to do a google search for something like 'starting your own business in IN' and see what comes up.
