Aug. 10th, 2006 07:45 pmSo, who else got fingerprinted today?
*listens to crickets*
Yeah, didn't think so. Part of working down at the City County building is that now, all employees have to be fingerprinted.
T'was amusing, and the stuff they give you to get the residue off your fingers? Smells to high heaven, and comes out goopy white from a tall container.
*shakes head*
Other than that, t'was a day. Lots of calls, Lots of passwords, lots of issues I'd not seen yet in working this job. Because the Helpdesk did such a good job last month, they ordered pizza for us, from some small place downtown. Not too bad.
Now to prep for Gencon tomorrow evening. I'm thinking quite seriously about paying the $75 and going all weekend, from tomorrow night to Sunday afternoon. Goals for the weekend there?
1. Talk to Looney Labs, see if I can gank some demo space from them and run some demos for SJ Games.
2. Find the person in charge of rooms and see what it would take for SJ Games to have a room next year.
3. Find some cool stuff in the dealer's room.
4. IF I can find a non-SRO, squeeze all the gamers into a small space showing of "Gamers 2: Dorkness Rising", then I'll attempt to see that.
5. Find Aaron and Christie, and hang out with them for a bit, buy a few issues of his comics I haven't been able to buy for a while, and get them signed (Him being the signing whore that he is)
6. Get a raffle ticket for the..is it Spectre? That Wizkids is raffling this year. Rather, they raffle chances for you to buy one. Friend of mine absolutely MUST have one, so am gonna try for him.
7. Check in with the other MIB, and see how they are doing, if I can help in some small way.
8. Try to actually find my way with generics into a few games. Will be weird to play games this year, as opposed to running some. Of course, if I can get some demo space, that plan changes a little.
So, with that much to see/try to accomplish, it behooves me to actually get a weekend pass. I've been scrimping, some bills are caught up, I've written a check to a friend, and I think I can do this.
