Aug. 28th, 2006 12:52 pmSo, I forgot to mention highlights of the weekend. Hmmm...
Friday night, got some school stuff taken care of, then went and wasted some time at Best Buy before hitting gaming in Westfield. Gaming was Star Wars. At BB, ran into the GF of a friend, and she and I talked for a good while. I was recognized by the back of my head while I was looking at new DVDS (I didn't buy anything). We started talking of TV shows we liked, while browsing, and I pointed Firefly out to her. She asked, I had her read the back, at which point she said "Is this what Serenity came from??", and ended up buying it. Also said she'd want to shoot me, as after seeing the series, she'd have to watch the movie again, and it would break her heart.
Went to gaming. Ended up playing two characters, causing Timmers to almost choke or shoot beverage out of his mouth a few times. Was a little more toned down, gaming, than I had been in a while. Got one of the characters killed quickly, and ended up playing the tech. Now the game is at a stage where I could, in theory, create my own character if I wanted to. Am debating what to do with that. Have never played a Jedi in one of those games, and am tempted.
Saturday was wake up early, go put a paper in with FA at school, go to my orientation, then go up to help the friends hosting Quantum this month (Local gathering of friends, most USED to be involved with the convention, some still are, to a greater or lesser degree), and left that to go to the wedding, then went back up north to hang out, have fun, socialize with people. Gave one of the other college kids in the group the CD I have of Moxy's "Live Noise". She's always looking for new music. Of course, I warned her that the group hadn't done anything in 6 years, and that she would end up loving it, wanting more, and having to live with what has been released (or is available in Live Concerts formats), but she was happy.
Many who had read that I was going after EM in school smiled, and said they thought that a better fit for me, but not to tie to it if I found out I didn't like it after the classes. Had one person asking about the possibility of using EM Interns for InCon, since a number of folks with EM interned at Gencon. Filed that away in my head. Will see. Of course, that begs the question of whether I could get away with counting InCon 2005 as MY internship, but since I wasn't in the program at that point, I doubt it, extremely. Came home, slept.
Yesterday was book hunting, some reading of "Top Ten: The Forty-Niners", some House watching (The TV show, I'm way behind on episodes), and I'm now caught up to the finale. Dunno when I'll watch that, or the Las Vegas finale. Hell, I have no real idea when any of those shows start up again. I don't watch a whole lot of TV at home. I'll correct that, at some point, but I'm trying to focus on a few more important things first.
Mom said I should hang a few things up in my room. Posters, pictures, that kind of thing, but I'm not ready to do that just yet.
Also e-mailed one of my teachers. More on that at a later date.
