Party last night was fun, actually, and much credit to Royalcrow for that. I ended up playing apples to apples, met and talked to a few new people (COj has many new people, that's just weird to me), saw that ONE of the new people still creeps me out, and in a major way, and one that kinda made me off center is actually ok, just a strangely intense, shy person. Anyone who meets her will know exactly what I mean.

I'm still remembering my dreams. And that is still making me feel weird, as well.

One of my classes has me stumped. I need to come up with a budget for a concert that will have 1000 people at it. I don't need to portion out the budget yet, but the initial budget is needed. Meh. I have no idea how to do this.

Think I'm going out for breakfast for a bit. Then, off to studying for a while, and picking up more Freeze Away.

If I may mildly interfere in the homework, even though you don't have to "portion it out" yet, you have to look at all the components in order to come up with the budget. Take all the elements of putting together a concert (performers, venue, a/v, roadies, etc.) vs. the revenue from the attendees. You need to figure up the elements of the concert to come up with the budget, then figure out how much to charge the attendees in order to cover your budget & make a profit.

(Sorry, someone asked me to run an SCA feast again, and my brain has lapsed into budget planning mode. Why can I budget a feast & not my paycheck? But I digress...)

No problem, I think she's just wanting figure, THEN we get to hang ourselves with it.

She had a basis with the five events we could have chosen from, or if we decided to pick/create our own. I've had an idea brewing in my head, and opted to try to turn it into a real event. Now, if I could make the fictional event I'm creating into a real one, that might be damned interesting.

As it is, if I'm able to show it as being done for my price? Hell, I may just try to make it a reality. :-P

And, no worries, I've heard enough people screaming about the SCA events, and trying to plan them, that I understand well. Hell, I remember Sophia talking about the..cloved orange ball? Think that was it.

The only thing I debated myself on was actually trying to do the local convention as my fictional, but I opted against. :-)

I've heard a lot about Apples to Apples. What do you think of it?

I've only played it twice, but I think it's a fun diversion. One of these days, I'll own it, too. My main problem is finding groupings and gatherings where folks can play it. Then again, all schedules seem chaotic anymore, so it'll go on the "I'll get it, and hope that eventually folks can play it".

I've played Munchkins (looove it!), Killer Bunnies, Lunch and Beer Money, Mall of Horror (a game about zombies in a mall), 3 Dragon Ante (love it, and it's also a cool way to decide RPG characteristics like Str, Con, Dex, etc), and Call of Cthulhu: Arkham Horror board game. I've watched people play D&D minis and Axis & Allies, both of which I'd like to try.

Munchkin is/was a big part of my life, it was the game most played. Chez Geek, Car Wars, I've played Lunch Money, own Beer Money (and a church key promo they gave away), Fluxx, Chrononauts, and a whole lot of others. Basically, if it looks like a fun card game, I'll try it. :-)
