So, several years ago, I added a bookmark to a story that was written, about Delirium from the comic book "Sandman", and yet had never read the story.

I finally read the story, and find it an interesting, almost haunting, one.

For those who don't know it, Sandman is a comic that deals with human abstracts, as personified in godlike beings. The personifications are Destiny, Death, Dream, Destruction, Desire, Despair, and Delirium (Who once was Delight). Sandman mainly dealt with Dream, but had a breakout character in Death, a perky Goth who is the grim reaper, and will be the last person to close the door on the universe in the end.

Delirium has always been one of the more interesting characters, and one of the big unanswered questions from the series, what changed her from Delight to Delirium?

We all have tend to have a destiny, even if it's never mapped, and we are making it up as we go, and we all will die, and we all dream. Now, we have aspects of destruction, desire, despair, and delirium/delight in us. How we use those aspects, and to what ends, is what makes us all human. I've always wanted to see more stories, from the other characters perspectives. And yes, the writing on Sandman is one of the prime reasons I wanted Gaiman as my author guest at 2005's convention.

Wow, too close to Del today, as that just sparked 20 different trains of thought in my head. Ah well. :-P

Who all has read this series, and who all has had it on their back burner, to read in the nebulous "Eventually"?
