So, I went to see "Kill Bill, Volume 2" last night.
IMO, Fabulous. It was a good "follow up" to Volume 1...the main issue that most people will have with it is that it is NOT as violent as the first...the first was over the top gore, in attempted homage to the old Karate flicks from many years ago...I loved it. It's one that I could watch several times..whereas any other Tarantino film I have to be in a specific mood for.
The only downside I had was the actual final battle. After so much else in the movie, it felt a little anti-climactic. I'm curious to see the scenes that were cut from the film. As much as anything else, this seemed like Tarantino's take on a "Romantic" film. Which, belive me, is just as twisted as it sounds.
Michael Madsen was great as Budd, but as from the first movie, it was Daryl Hannah who "stole" the film with her acting...to be honest, I'm not quite sure she WAS acting...I think Hannah might just be a crazy psychotic..won't be the first time that's happened. :-)
Uma was still good as "The Bride", and her confrontation with Bill, played brilliantly by David Carradine, was several things at once...good and bad. I found myself laughing several times, and marvelling...
And, like most people I know who are into such, I find myself wanting a "Hattori Hanzo" sword. :-P
