I have to be insane.
Nov. 1st, 2006 06:39 pmTo even be considering what my brain just considered.
*walks around a tad*
Ok. This evening is finishing off Spanish homework I need to have submitted tonight, and then working more on my EM homework that is due TOMORROW, that I thought was due next week. Add to that a quiz that IS next week.
Went out for a break from Spanish for a bit, and Dad had the tv on to a political talk. Carville and someone else, speaking for Republicans. I just about said something off-color as he made a comment, that people would "rue the day" if they made Nancy Pelosi speaker of the house.
First thought was "God, what a DICK".
The second one made me realize I've lost a LOT of my memory on movie trivia. I'm trying to remember a movie, one I feel I should know like the back of my hand, and I can't. The movie quote is "Rue the day. Who TALKS like that??"
I cannot recall it, and that bugs me.
After homework, I'll be writing a bit more for Nano. Yes, I'm a lemming, too.
At this point, I'm assuming it to be crap. :-P I have no clue where it'll go, just that the base idea has been with me for 12 years, or more. There have actually been 3 or 4 ideas like that. Sitting around, nothing to do with them, no idea how to structure them. One has recently been done, on tv. A few elements are different, but the basic idea is there. I think this is the first I've mentioned that, and that it really kind of annoyed me. :-)
Anyways, I'll update more later.

Date: 2006-11-02 12:34 am (UTC)"National Novel Writing Month, is a creative writing project originating in the United States in which each participant attempts to write a fifty-thousand-word novel in a single month. The project was started by Chris Baty in July 1999 with 21 participants, and has been held annually in November since 2000. Despite the name, the project is now international in scope. In 2005, 59,703 people participated and 9,765 were declared winners, each having written at least 50,000 words. The cumulative word total for all participants in 2005 was 714,227,354 words. [1]"
Best way to describe it (and this is my first year trying), is a BUNCH of people give themselves a deadline to write, from November 1st, to the end of the month, a total of 50,000 words. Generally a novella is that size, but they can keep writing. So long as they write the novel, as much as they can, in 50,000 words.

This year, I'm doing it, Mobobocita is doing it, and other people around LJ, and the world, are doing it.
And, like most of the people who write for this, yes, I'm sure mine is going to suck. But, I'm writing at least. :-)

Date: 2006-11-02 12:26 am (UTC)Dad and I talk politics, on occasion, and Dad's the one I talked into voting third party in the last Presidential election. :-). We both know the other has valid views and reasons for believing as we do. Even if we disagree on some of it.
