This was a place the resume was going to end up at, and was one of the better "fun" theaters in town. Recently, they'd been doing more "events", like having a showing of "Animal House", and having 4 of the cast in attendance, showing "The Exorcist", and having Linda Blair. For ideas of transitioning into Event Management, this was one of the better ideas I had.
I remember going to see Dark City, Face/Off (That was a lot of fun), and I remember one birthday, MANY years ago, where we had 20 people for my birthday, seeing "The Mexican", which became a movie I really liked. Many memories of that one. I remember I had a Sam Addams that seemed to keep filling itself (after the third time, I QUICKLY turned around, only to see my roommate filling the bottle with his own), many friends I didn't get to see much of in attendance, and one single moment in the film, where a flock of sheep crossed the scene in the film, and my roommate speaking out "Good Morning, Ladies".
Goodbye, HB&F. You were a place I loved going to, hadn't been in far too long, and now regret that.
Of course, a different part of me goes "Hmmm...parking is part of what killed it. How do I find a good location, good parking, and pick up the business?" The question of where my path is supposed to be taking me right now. :-)

Date: 2006-11-02 04:35 am (UTC)I remember when you were turning 26 on the 26th and I had to save your reservation by lying to the staff and saying the rest of the group was parking so they wouldn't give up your seats.....
Wow. I have so many memories from that place. It's not fair. *sigh*

Date: 2006-11-02 04:46 am (UTC)I remember seeing The Sign there right after our wedding for Royalcrowe's birthday, and the fact that SB and I never could figure out if it was serious or not. But the companionship was wonderful....
Something may pop up to fill the void, but nothing will replace The Hollywood. I'm sorry it fell on hard times.

Date: 2006-11-02 03:49 pm (UTC)The things they were doing with bringing in 'stars' was kinda neat. I was sorely tempted to take my B5 picture over and have Stephen Furst sign it. Timing wasn't with me that weekend, however.

Date: 2006-11-02 03:46 pm (UTC)Of course, that just has me wondering how the hell to fill the gap.
Yeah, let a few of us know the next time you're in the area, there are a few restaurants to try. :-)

Date: 2006-11-02 03:59 pm (UTC)I have friends on both coasts now. *heh* If I ever get out that far in either direction, sightseeing would be amazing.
