Nov. 20th, 2006 03:08 pmOk. So, I'm debating a vacation of sorts (after classes are over, after I go through Midwest BS (heh, just noted that acronym, amusing).
Debating many states to visit/travel to, many friends who are a distance away.
Of course, if I do this, am thinking seriously of getting my "Route 69" trip out of the way, following it a way, then seeing where I end up. Hell, if I'm feeling REALLY good, may just print out the map o' states, and start knocking several off along the way.
Suffice to say, Alaska and Hawaii are definitely not in the path for this one.
So, vacation states, where are good spots to go? Farthest I've been, in a driving trip years ago with parents, was Oklahoma. In single jaunts? California, Nevada, and Texas. Also the straight line path to Florida, and similar to Pennsylvania (though, can't remember if we ended up in West Virginia on that trip).
Suggestions? Things to look for? Have already been told if I make it to Cali that I HAVE to try In-N-Out, any other regional things to think about?
Again, this is just pre-planning stages, no clue if it'll actually, truly happen, but I'll have time, and want to do something while waiting for classes to start up again (or next year, after Spring courses).

Date: 2006-11-20 10:04 pm (UTC)If you're interested, I have that book detailing the most beautiful drives in America, separate by state. I can always lend you that. And, if you're planning on doing this after March sometime and come south, let us know. We'll hopefully have a room available for friends by then.
