Dec. 18th, 2006 11:26 pmOk. NO idea if I'll be able to update much this week. After the marathon "GAH, I CAN'T SLEEP" session last night (where I did get a lot of things on the computer cleaned up, and the mystery project is continuing well), I think I may sleep well tonite.
Class? DAMN. The main thing? I'm enjoying it. It's busy, it's cramming a LOT of information in, in a very short time.
The really neat? I don't know that I've ever poured a "shot" before, at least not the measurement way. However, while doing this, I can actually come in as one of the closest (if not the one who comes the closest) to pouring it. The two kids I was with were doing the "Holy shit. Dude, that's awesome". All it is is counting.
*shakes head*
We'll see how the rest of it goes. WE've got the information we will need for the final, now it's just using my flash cards to memorize drink recipes, remembering what drinks go in what glasses. Though, I do have to marvel at times. There is the whole "Ok, I've had that, wow, I know that Gin is damned expensive (when you have a former roommate who prided himself on his alcohol collection, some of it rubs off), and that stuff is crap. Ugh"
Amusing part? We are not working with alcohol at all in the class. Just colored water in the bottles.
Another fun part, it's REALLY obvious that our teacher is into "flair" bartending. Without realizing she is doing it, she tends to twirl the glasses, shakers, bottles and such in her hand. I mentioned that to her, and she just started laughing, not having realized it. Fortunately, I didn't instigate the centipede's dilemma.
So, will see what this week brings. Hope it's well for the rest of you.
In light of the whole "life changes at the drop of a hat", I present what has turned into my favorite exchange in Heroes, as an icon. Now, if I could get it as an animated icon, that would rock. As is, I don't really know how to do that. In my copious amounts of free time, I MAY try to do it eventually. :-)

Date: 2006-12-19 05:11 am (UTC)Dude! You are my Hero! It's been years since I heard that phrase.
Glad you are doing well. I am curious what happens to the drinks when you've mixed them. I'd assume that you need to check that the drinks are mixed right, but I doubt the teachers can taste them all and still manage to stand at the end of the day.

*heh* I marvel at your choosing the word "Hero", while I chose the current icon. Must get you watching this show (since I can't recall if you're watching it or not)
