Ok, so, today is my last day at the office for a week...am I going on vacation? No.

Starting Monday, I'll be in class for my A+ certification..for those that don't know, that is one of the Geek tests that show you know how to fix computers for a living.

Actually, I should say "Starting Sunday", as it's a 3 hour drive to where the class is...yeah, that's a lot better than me having to drive in Chicago..which is still a thought to send me into hives. Me, driving in Chicago...for multiple reasons. I've got my directions printed out, and have started packing, figuring what TV shows to record.

I'll admit to having some mild...can't remember the term. When...ah, Anxiety. Yeah, some mild-medium anxiety, because of the fact that when I was in school, oh so long ago...I got average grades...and, it's been a LONG ass time since I've been in a class..I think the last class I was in was a Public Speaking course about 10 years ago...so, the thought of being "graded" again is one to strike fear into my heart...hell, it's already bad that we, as adults in our real life jobs, have to be graded by these wonderful things they call Performance Evaluations.

Just called the hotel I'll be at..oh, yeah. THe training center is putting me up for a week at Extended Stay...which will be interesting. It woudl appear that I'm going to be staying in the following.

Studio with 1 King Bed, Recliner, Kitchen, Living Area, Work Desk, Dataport, TV Extended Stay America hotels are furnished with all of the amenities needed to satisfy the long-term, value conscious traveler. As a guest of Extended Stay America, you will find that our Studio Suites come complete with a Fully Equipped Kitchen, 1 King Bed, a Comfortable Recliner, and a Work Desk. The convenient kitchen allows you to prepare your own meals without time constraints and includes a Refrigerator, Microwave, 2-Burner Stove, Coffeemaker, and Utensils. Staying connected while on the road is not a problem because our suites offer free Voice-Mail access, free Local Calls, and a Computer Dataport integrated into the telephone. Additional amenities include Cable Television with Premium Movie Channels, and a 24-Hour, On-Site, Coin-Operated Laundry Facility.

Now, here's hoping that I can learn everythign I need to to pass the A+ Cert once the classes are done...I'll be trying to take it almost immediately after.

Per, try not to freak too much... Just remember that this type of test is not one where you only have one shot at it. You can take it as many times as you need to in order to pass it (there's just added insentive to pass it quickly because it costs each time you take it). Go to the class, take good notes, and read over them several times when you're in the room at night. That should help you remember what you learned that day.

If you don't pass the first time, just remember that there is no need to feel down. Remember that John Kennedy, Jr. took (I believe it was) 3 tries in order to pass this barr exam. :)
