Ok. So, tomorrow, I'll be going to IUPUI, at around 10:00am, not for a class, but an extra thing that the TCEM dept. does during the next "break".
Apparently, they do a Cruise, to greek islands, as a part of the international meeting stuff. Open to students in our dept.
So, will go in tomorrow, hear the information, try to make a decision. Also talked to my teacher today (whom I Adore), about getting information on part time jobs in the industry. My creativity is something needed. Also found out that, out of the 5 generations, apparently Gen X is the MOST jaded of any of them. :-P Go figure. We also are the most likely to leave/have multiple jobs, as we have little loyalty, since we would see our parents let go for no reason at all.
So, any suggestions on getting a passport? As it's a cruise, do I still need to worry about that? Of course, I'll still ask that tomorrow, but figure if anyone here has any idea.
The idea of expanding my international travel experience is a "OOooooh" feeling. Right now, I've got The US, and Canada.
Which begs the question, what are some of you favorite places to travel?

On another interesting note, I found a neat Wiki entry on "Concept Albums". I've been listening to Alice Cooper's "The Last Temptation", which made me think of Kiss' "Music from the Elder". Well, there's a nice list of a WHOLE bunch of concept albums I'd have never thought of. Let me know your thoughts, if any, on concept albums, too. :-P

Date: 2007-01-19 12:35 pm (UTC)Thanks. :-)
My brain says "So, I won't have my BC with me at all times anymore?" Have had it since I first thought of getting a passport, and I don't exactly remember when that was.
Will you be sharing in the sacrifice of Crushed Asians tonite? :-P

Date: 2007-01-19 01:23 pm (UTC)Suggestions? Apply early. You can get the passport forms and all teh information you need to know about it here: http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html (http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html).
Also, don't try to take the photos yourself. They are very specific. You can go to just about anywhere anymore in order to get them, for they're all digitized now. I had to get my Visa photo done earlier, and there is a program that checks to make sure that you're within the widths that you need, etc. for the passports (they take digital photos now vs. before).

Date: 2007-01-19 01:25 pm (UTC)Of course, I'll know much more later on today, but just the thought is a lot of fun. Somehow, I can't picture getting to travel to a fun destination if I were still in computers. :-)
Of course, I keep hearing old "horror stories" of cruises gone bad in the back of my head, but oh well.

Date: 2007-01-19 01:35 pm (UTC)As for the horror stories... just make sure it's a respected company and you shouldn't have any problems. Our problem was that the ship was old, we didn't know the company, and the company was only out to sell us time shares, not guarentee that the guest have a good time.
