Ok. So, tomorrow, I'll be going to IUPUI, at around 10:00am, not for a class, but an extra thing that the TCEM dept. does during the next "break".

Apparently, they do a Cruise, to greek islands, as a part of the international meeting stuff. Open to students in our dept.

So, will go in tomorrow, hear the information, try to make a decision. Also talked to my teacher today (whom I Adore), about getting information on part time jobs in the industry. My creativity is something needed. Also found out that, out of the 5 generations, apparently Gen X is the MOST jaded of any of them. :-P Go figure. We also are the most likely to leave/have multiple jobs, as we have little loyalty, since we would see our parents let go for no reason at all.

So, any suggestions on getting a passport? As it's a cruise, do I still need to worry about that? Of course, I'll still ask that tomorrow, but figure if anyone here has any idea.

The idea of expanding my international travel experience is a "OOooooh" feeling. Right now, I've got The US, and Canada.

Which begs the question, what are some of you favorite places to travel?

On another interesting note, I found a neat Wiki entry on "Concept Albums". I've been listening to Alice Cooper's "The Last Temptation", which made me think of Kiss' "Music from the Elder". Well, there's a nice list of a WHOLE bunch of concept albums I'd have never thought of. Let me know your thoughts, if any, on concept albums, too. :-P

Yes, you will need a Passport. It takes several weeks for processing. Go to the Post Office for the application, fill out said application, have your pictures for the Passport taken AT the Post Office. A Passport photo has to have certain standards...the Post Office will take the photos until they get it right, no additional charge...other places that offer 'passport photos' may not get it right and your passport could be denied because your photo 'wasn't properly centered'...and you would be charged for each photo. I know this because my dad works for the post office and it is part of his job to know what the 'competion' does...this includes Passports, UPS, DHL, FedEx...and on and on.

Prior to 2006, if you were taking a cruise that was departing from the US, you didn't need a passport. Post 2006, you needed a passport to take one, in addition, I believe I read that you now need your passport to go back and forth across the Canadian border. Also, if you're taking a "Greek" cruise, then you'll definitely need one because you'll be flying across the Atlantic.

Suggestions? Apply early. You can get the passport forms and all teh information you need to know about it here: http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html (http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html).

Also, don't try to take the photos yourself. They are very specific. You can go to just about anywhere anymore in order to get them, for they're all digitized now. I had to get my Visa photo done earlier, and there is a program that checks to make sure that you're within the widths that you need, etc. for the passports (they take digital photos now vs. before).

If you're in computers, you might get to travel to "fun" destinations if they allow for conferences/education in their budget. Bear use to go to Disney each year for Lotusphere.. That was a blast. And you might be able to if you're into creating computer programs and you're the spec. designer, for you have to meet with the client. As a help desk person, you probably wouldn't get to go much of anywhere...

As for the horror stories... just make sure it's a respected company and you shouldn't have any problems. Our problem was that the ship was old, we didn't know the company, and the company was only out to sell us time shares, not guarentee that the guest have a good time.
