So, Season 2 of Dead Zone arrived on DVD today...it was $20 from Deepdiscountdvd...

Which, of course, put me in a mood to watch Season 1 again..popped out the tape, and picked it up where I'd left off last time...which just happened to be the episode where Johnny is a juror..

For any of my friends who have not been watching this show, you really should...I can't think of too many people I know who wouldn't like it. Parts of it are rough for me...the parts I'll warn you of...basically, the lead character is in an accident, and in a coma for several years...he wakes up 6 years after an accident and has to deal with adjusting to how life has changed in that period of time. Having had a friend in a coma, it makes it a little rough at points. :-) But, the main character comes out with the ability to sense things, from touching objects...as I recall, the actual psychic sense is called "Psychometry"...

The first two episodes of the show deal with a serial killer, pretty closely following several chapters of the Stephen King novel. The next several episodes veer from the novel, and go into original territory...one of the best ones (other than the one I mentioned above) is where Johnny wakes up to realize that his girlfriend from before the accident (who has since remarried, and had a child) is his wife, as if he had never had the accident. The episode is entitled "Netherworld", and it works well, IMHO.

The series then catched up at the end of the first season with the Finale, once more veering into Book territory...dealing with a politician who, if the visions are correct, will destroy the world..or at least the United States.

After that is Season 2, which I know very little about, as USA tended to jump it around the schedule..or they aired each episode once, and I never managed to catch it..however, Season 3 is going along very well..

Oh, forgot to mention the star in the show. Anthony Michael Hall as the lead character...and does a very good job. And, for the Politician, they picked Sean Patrick Flannery...which freaks me every time, as all I can tend to think of him as is Young Indiana Jones...

So, in summation. :-) Watch "The Dead Zone"...I don't think you'll be disappointed.
