Ah, the minor hurdles.
Mar. 15th, 2007 03:17 pmI'm a packrat.
Yes, many of you know that, and yes, it is a quirk I find annoying at times.
No where do I think that more evident than in my comic books (Shhh, those of you looking at my DVD habits).
So, before the move, I did a huge feat..got rid of 2 boxes of comics (I think, I'm not remembering it too well, it may have been three, but it was at least two).
Today, I took essentially 4 and a half boxes, pulled some out for nephew, and ended up taking 3 long boxes, and one short box, into the comic shop. Stuff I hadn't read in years, stuff I'll not read again, ever, and some stuff that made me go "WTF?? Why the hell did I buy this?"
Net result, I have 3/4 of a long box that I brought home (some very beat up comics in there, but most of it safe for the nephew when I give him what now amounts to a full long box of comics), and had a decent amount of credit at the store. So, I bought a few Trade Paperbacks (including a new Hellboy one that goes to Desidera when I'm done with it), and the Rising Stars Hardcover, that has ALL of Rising Stars in it. And, I have enough left on the card to get the Sandman Re-mastered book, when they get it in.
Course, now that means I need to find a home for the Sandman TPBs, but that's a GOOD thing.
Condensing things in life. Right now, aside from one obvious, I have very few complaints.

Date: 2007-03-18 02:19 am (UTC)Have you ever read Barry Ween, Boy Genius? It's so freakin funny! It's not a superhero comic, but it's hillarious all the same.
I'm sending monthly updates of a brand new comic called Drain to the soldier I write to in Iraq. It's about a female ninja vampire.
~ here ends my geekery ~

Date: 2007-03-19 06:16 pm (UTC)Hmmm...never heard of Drain, though I used to be into Vampire books. Trades I'd recommend to anyone. Hellboy, Y: The Last Man (where my current icon comes from), Rising Stars (except for the last book), and Fables should be read by all.
My geekery really doesn't end. :-P
