Ever see a movie, then want your time back? I can't say "Well, I want my money back", as it was a borrowed movie. And yes, I did other things while watching it (I went through old VHS tapes and pitched a bunch..not to make it through more boxes, and pitch even more shit).

well, while doing this work tonight, I finally watched "The Grudge".

And the big deal on this movie was?

I mean, maybe it's me...maybe I've been spoiled on "horror" films, or thrillers, or anything, but this one didn't pull me at all. I mean, the Ring pulled me a bit, but this one had me going "ok..ok...when?", and I saw the reveal/plot "twist" coming.

And the ending was WAY too predictable.

But then, I help out with friends at the local con with a video trivia contest..so, my tolerance is high.

Now, I must admit, I adored "Slither", but then, it was a different feel.

And yes, Bubba Ho-Tep counts for wanting your time back from a movie. :-P

So there we go...today's query of the day. What movie did you feel was a waste? Enough that you really felt the worse for having seen it? Typically, it fits better if it's one that all of your friends raved about, but really, any movie you felt was a hideous waste fits.

For me? "The Grudge", "Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions" are two that come to mind. Hannibal, and Dungeons and Dragons.

That's just a few.

Go watch Ju-On. It's the Japanese movie that The Grudge was based on and it is so much better than the American version. Bann and I had watched Ju-On then we watched The Grudge with some family members. I spent a lot of time explaining what was going on in Grudge.


Hm. What movie did I feel was a waste....I tend to have a high tolerance for bad movies. (And bad anime...I guess bad media in general.) OH! It took me a minute to think of it because I've been trying to wipe this movie from the depths of my brain. Goddamn SIDEWAYS. That was the worst movie I have ever seen in my entire life. This is now the movie that I compare bad movies to. If something is bad, I can still go "Well, it wasn't fucking Sideways." Yet all the artsy fartsy people are like "This is such a GOOD MOVIE." No it's not. It's TRASH. God I hate that movie.

Will attempt to find Ju-On. Had heard good about it, but after watching "Grudge", I wasn't sure. Know that I liked Ringu better than "The Ring", but who knows on all the "remakes" that have come out. :-P

Never saw Sideways, though I'd heard a lot of reviews stating it was "great". Glad I haven't watched it, or if I do, that I'll at least be aware in advance.

i actually liked the grudge. it was more about watching great technique and an interesting story then being scared shitless although that woman did do a number on me. the second one was a bit of suckage though.

i LOVED bubba ho-tep! how can you not?!?!

I loved B-H-T for a lot of technique and fun. But, using the same yardstick that we do for our movies that are bad? It's bad, it just knows that and has fun with it.

Wasn't looking for scares, even, with Grudge, I just found it lacking.

bloodrayne, black dahlia although the mocking was fun,for richer or poorer...sure i could think of more if i really wanted to.

I missed that part of a nice dinner, I actually had a great dinner at a greek restaurant on the south side. Should get a group to go there sometime.
