Hmmm...well, my friend who might have been able to place the old couch cannot take it, so I need to call Goodwill...

I find that my mind is hesitating...I've had that couch an awful long time, and the chair with it..the new couch is nicer, comfier, fits the room...dynamically, looks great in its spot...

And yet, I'm reluctant to get rid of the couch I had..and the comfy chair with it...

Now, I'm sure this goes into my "Despising even small changes" mode, but it's not something I think about..there is no way I can keep it, I want to put my dining table back into place. I've still got a few others way I can re-arrange that section...so, I ought to just get rid of it.

The good news is, Good Will will apparently come pick it up...a must for me. Am just wondering if there is anywhere else that would..

And, of course, my Grandpa Smith is speaking in the back of my head, saying "You paid money for that couch, Boy, why donate it when you might *ahem, MIGHT* be able to sell it and at least get your money back, if not make a profit".

Grandpa's been gone for at least 13 year, I think it's more like 14...yet I can still hear him. Urgh.

So, here in a short while, I'll be examining Goodwill's page, and seeing when they can come get it.

Hmmm. If Goodwill has a 2+ week wait, they must be getting a lot of pick-up donations, which is good for them. But keep in mind that groups like this usually have a limited amount of staff, and they're using a few donated trucks.

We donated all our old cabinets to Habitat for Humanity, but they mostly want home-improvement stuff. There probably are other Goodwill-like charities in the phonebook. Look under "thrift store," maybe? But make sure it's actually a charity.

In Indy, I that the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) and the Indiana School for the Blind will both come pick up donations and they are both fairly good charities.
